Our Patients Love Us…
Brainshape is an Australian neurodevelopment clinic providing personalised, evidence-informed support for children experiencing learning, attention, sensory, movement, behavioural and developmental challenges.
Our approach is informed by the Melillo Method and tailored to each child’s unique neurodevelopmental profile. We consider the whole child to help families better understand the factors that may be influencing their child’s development.
Why Families Choose Brainshape
Personalised Neurodevelopmental Care
Every child is different. We take the time to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, developmental history and individual needs before recommending an appropriate assessment or support pathway.
In-Depth Assessments
and Brain Mapping
Our assessments may explore movement, coordination, sensory processing, attention and regulation. Where appropriate, QEEG brain mapping and HRV testing may provide further insight into brain and nervous system function.
A Whole-Child Approach
Rather than looking at one concern in isolation, we consider how different areas of development may be connected. Our approach combines functional neurology, neurodevelopmental principles and the Melillo Method.
Experienced and Compassionate Team
Our practitioners combine clinical knowledge with a warm, child-friendly approach. We aim to create an environment where children feel comfortable and families feel heard, respected and supported throughout every stage of care.
Targeted Services Under One Roof
Based on your child’s needs, support may involve sensory-motor rehabilitation, primitive reflex integration, Interactive Metronome, photobiomodulation, vestibular rehabilitation, BrainTap, NeuroSage and more.
Family-Centred Guidance
Parents and caregivers are an important part of the process. We explain assessment findings and recommendations clearly, answer your questions and help you understand the next steps for your child and family with greater confidence.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
A Brainshape Discovery Call is a complimentary 15-minute introductory conversation with one of our trained team members. During the call, you can briefly share your main concerns, ask initial questions and learn whether Brainshape may be an appropriate next step for your child and family.
The conversation is focused, so you do not need to explain your child’s complete history. Your team member will listen, answer your questions and help guide you towards the most suitable appointment or pathway. Availability may be limited while we continue expanding Discovery Call times.
-
The Discovery Call is generally a conversation between a parent or caregiver and a Brainshape team member. Your child does not usually need to participate, which allows you to speak openly about your concerns and ask questions without placing any pressure on them.
-
No. Your child does not need to have a formal diagnosis to book a Discovery Call. Many families contact Brainshape because they have noticed challenges or changes but are still unsure what may be contributing to them or which type of support to seek.
-
It may help to write down your main concerns, when you first noticed them and any questions you would like to ask. You can also mention previous assessments, diagnoses, therapies or support your child has received, although you do not need to provide their complete developmental history during this short call.
-
No. A Discovery Call is an introductory conversation and is not a clinical assessment. It cannot provide a diagnosis, medical advice, assessment findings or a personalised treatment plan. A formal appointment may be recommended when further clinical evaluation is appropriate.
-
You can briefly discuss concerns relating to attention, learning, emotional regulation, sensory processing, movement, balance, coordination, developmental milestones, behaviour, sleep or school participation. You may also ask questions about an existing diagnosis, previous assessment or support your child has already received.
-
At the end of the call, our team will explain the next step that may be suitable based on the information you have shared. This may include booking an Initial Brainshape Assessment, learning more about a particular service or considering another appropriate healthcare or educational pathway.
-
Brainshape uses a personalised, whole-child approach rather than looking at one concern in isolation. Our approach is informed by the Melillo Method and tailored to each child’s unique neurodevelopmental profile, considering how areas such as movement, sensory processing, attention, learning and regulation may be connected.
-
Brainshape commonly supports children and families navigating developmental and learning delays, ADHD, autism, OCD, emotional dysregulation, focus and attention challenges, movement and coordination difficulties, concussion, migraines and autoimmune-related conditions such as PANS and PANDAS.
Whether Brainshape is suitable will depend on your child’s individual needs, history and neurodevelopmental profile. The Discovery Call can help your family understand whether an assessment or another Brainshape pathway may be an appropriate next step.
-
Item descriptOur team will be honest about whether Brainshape appears appropriate based on the information discussed. When another service or professional may be more suitable, we may encourage you to speak with an appropriate healthcare, allied health or educational provider.ion
