WHY WE RECOMMEND
AN INTENSIVE PROGRAM

At Brainshape, our programs are grounded in the proven science of neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to adapt, change, and form new connections.

This process can work in your child’s favour, or against it. When a child experiences ongoing stress, developmental delays, injury, or illness, the brain can form unhelpful patterns in how it processes and responds to the world. Over time, these patterns become more ingrained, making it harder for the brain to shift on its own.

Our intensive care programs are designed not just to manage symptoms, but to retrain the brain—restoring function, improving regulation, and helping your child reach their full potential

That’s where targeted, intensive care comes in. To create lasting, positive changes in the brain and nervous system, we follow three key principles supported by neuroscience:

  • 1. Intensity

Therapies must be strong and specific enough to stimulate real change in the brain. We use a combination of cutting-edge technologies and hands-on methods that are designed to be impactful—without overwhelming the nervous system.

  • 2. Frequency

Repetition matters. For brain change to stick, therapy needs to happen often enough to build momentum. In the early stages, sessions are more frequent to avoid regression and fast-track results. Gaps in care can cause progress to stall or reverse, which is why daily or near-daily sessions are often recommended at the start.

  • 3. Duration

Each child’s brain has different limits. We work to find the right dose and length of therapy to challenge the nervous system without overloading it. By carefully identifying your child’s thresholds, we can push for maximum gains in the shortest amount of time.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING AN INTENSIVE?

Our Intensive care program is designed to harness the power of Neuroplasticity to jump start the Brain and Nervous systems ability to change and heal.

We aim to achieve positive, sustainable changes in the brain, Intense enough for a professional athlete and gentle enough for a baby.

We have two options for an Intensive Program:

1-2 week Intensive for 2 to 4 hours a day

8 week after school intensive program.
