Accelerate Attention, Learning & Behaviour These School Holidays

Our Brainshape School Holiday Intensive Program provides a more concentrated schedule of appointments during the school holiday period.

The program is individualised and may include a combination of assessment-informed activities, movement-based exercises, sensory-motor activities and other care approaches considered clinically appropriate.

Before an intensive program is recommended, an initial assessment is completed to help determine whether this type of care is suitable for your child.

What is involved?

The Brainshape Intensive Program may include:

  • Up to 10 hours of scheduled therapy sessions over one week

  • Two sessions per day

  • Assessment-informed therapy activities

  • Individualised home activities where appropriate

  • General nutrition guidance where clinically appropriate

  • Follow-up recommendations based on the child’s individual presentation

The exact content, frequency and duration of care will vary depending on the child’s assessment findings, clinical needs and circumstances.

Why choose a school holiday intensive?

  • School holiday intensives can provide families with the opportunity to complete a higher concentration of appointments during a period when scheduling may be more convenient.

  • An intensive program is not suitable or required for every child. The practitioner will consider the child’s history, assessment findings, current concerns and overall clinical presentation before making recommendations.

  • Initial Assessment

  • An Initial Neurodevelopment Assessment is completed before an intensive program begins.

This assessment helps the practitioner understand the child’s history, current presentation and individual needs, and determine whether an intensive program may be appropriate.

Following the assessment, the practitioner will explain the findings, discuss available care options and answer any questions before a program is agreed to.

Individualised Care

  • Where an intensive program is recommended, the care plan is tailored to the individual child.

  • Recommendations may be reviewed and adjusted according to the child’s presentation, response to care and circumstances.

  • No particular outcome or timeframe for improvement can be guaranteed.
