Functional Neurodevelopment Assessment

When a child is struggling with focus, learning, behaviour, movement, or emotional regulation, the underlying cause is often related to how the brain and nervous system have developed. A Functional Neurodevelopment Assessment looks beyond symptoms to understand which foundational skills, sensory systems, and brain networks may be under-matured or out of sync.

This gentle, whole-child assessment gives us a clearer picture of why challenges are occurring and guides a personalised, practical care plan designed to support lasting developmental change.

Does my child have a brain imbalance?

We assess key developmental and neurological foundations that influence everyday function, including:

  • Balance, coordination, posture, and core stability

  • Primitive reflexes (early movement patterns that should integrate with development)

  • Sensory-motor processing and body awareness

  • Timing, attention, and processing speed

  • Visual and auditory skills (where clinically relevant)

  • Nervous system regulation and stress patterns

Many neurodevelopmental challenges involve functional disconnections—areas of the brain or nervous system that are under-active or not communicating efficiently. When we identify these patterns, we can create targeted activities that help networks strengthen and integrate.

This assessment may support children with:
